Chennai (India)-born Meera holds a Bachelors in Management Studies from the Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS), Pilani, India, and a Masters in Corporate & Public Communications from Seton Hall University, New Jersey. She volunteers with many local non-profits - Port Chester Carver Center, Rye Arts Center & India cultural center. Previously a tech public relations specialist in the Silicon Valley, Meera is pursuing a second career as an artist and art instructor. Whether it’s starting a new painting or teaching, Meera believes in approaching it with the same openness, excitement & curiosity of a beginner. Her paintings are in home collections globally spanning the US, Canada, India, the U.K. Meera's paintings are routinely juried into prominent exhibits in the tri-state area. A three month youth expedition to China with Raleigh International was a turning point in her life, encouraging her to quit her accounting job in Dubai and enter the field of corporate communications in the U.S. She primarily works with oil, acrylic & mixed media. Largely self-taught, Meera has been painting for three decades.
Meera's art is inspired by nature, memories of her native, vibrant India and world travels.
